Introduction
To achieve quality management and enhance organizational
performance, SAGE has adopted the Malcolm Baldrige Model
of Performance Excellence as an assessment and improvement
mechanism since 2003. It is based on the Malcolm Baldrige
National Quality Award originated in the United States.
Upon the set of core values and concepts, the model has
established seven assessment criteria: 1. Leadership; 2.
Strategic Planning; 3. Customer and Market Focus; 4. Measurement,
Analysis and Knowledge Management; 5. Human Resource Focus;
6. Process Management; and 7. Business Results. With this
built-in mechanism in place, we can continuously monitor
our organizational performance to identify inadequacies
at an early stage so that rectification and improvement
can be done timely and effectively. We endeavour to enhance
our organization, strive for excellence, and stay competitive.
Malcolm Baldrige Model of Performance Excellence
The Malcolm Baldrige Model comprises three core elements,
which are:
- Organization Profile
- Management System
- Information and Analysis
In recent years, many business enterprises as well as non-profit
making organizations in the United States and throughout
the world have employed the Baldrige Model as an assessment
tool and a blueprint for total quality management.
In search for excellence, SAGE is heading in the same direction.
Through assessing and monitoring our performance, we will
identify our strengths, weaknesses and areas for further
enhancement. Hence, our organizational performance can be
enhanced in a continuous and systematic way, and our fellow
staff members can ceaselessly upgrade and improve themselves.
